The Native American Indian has a culture that is rich in history and tradition.  Dating back many centuries to a pre Columbian time period, it is believed that the American Indians first came to the Americas via a land bridge connecting the U.S.S.R. to Alaska, now known as the Bering Strait.  Living primarily in teepees, Indians were expert hunters whose main source of meat came from the bison or buffalo.  The Indian population were also adept at planting and harvesting from the land.
